Today I kept under my calorie allowance, but I almost binged a couple of times. I almost stopped for fast food after work, I almost stopped for a bag of chips after dinner, and I almost ate the rest of the ice cream cake instead of just a small slice. I was proud though, I didn't do it!! Tomorrow though I don't work, so I have to stay extra motivated because when I'm not working I find it much easier to over-eat out of boredom. I am going to start the 14 day abs challenge below instead of being bored!! So here's my Calorie count for today and some pictures of skinny bitches to get me through tomorrow!
B- Bread with pb and a banana - 278 cals
L- tea with milk, small tuna sandwich with light/half the fat mayo - 263 cals
D - Fish Tacos and white wine - 570 cals
S - Small slice of DQ cake - 240 cals
Total = 1351 calories

Healthy Recipe, Veggie Packed Quinoa
I found this great recipe online for a healthy quinoa side dish, I want to try it with my boyfriend when he get's back from his 5 day hike!
Combined with any veggie blend, quinoa transforms from a bland side dish to the sparkling main event. With this healthy blend of green veggies and protein-packed chick peas, this quinoa dish is a great healthy alternative to overly-starchy sides.
What You’ll Need:
1 cup of quinoa1/2 a bag of fresh spinach leaves
1/2 onion
1 can of chickpeas
4 fresh mushrooms
Splash/dash of desired seasoning (we like a little Sriracha, curry powder, paprika, or oregano)
1 can of chickpeas
4 fresh mushrooms
Splash/dash of desired seasoning (we like a little Sriracha, curry powder, paprika, or oregano)
What To Do:
- In a medium saucepan, bring 1 cup of quinoa and 2 cups of water to a boil. Then turn to simmer and continue cooking, covered, until water is absorbed (about 10-15 minutes).
- While quinoa is cooking, sauté the spinach, onions, chickpeas, and mushrooms in a skillet with a drizzle of olive oil.
- As vegetables are sautéing, add seasoning of choice and mix well.
- When quinoa is cooked, add to the skillet with veggies and stir until well combined.
Butt exercises
I didn't eat very well today but I only went 12 calories over my goal so at least there's that. I had 1473 cals total. I need to start working out more, my stomach is getting flatter from the weight loss but I need more of a toned look, especially my butt!!
Here are some exercises for a bigger butt or more toned anyways, that I plan to try to do daily.
Front, side and back lunges
Squats or Single leg squats - Stand straight up, with your hands in front of you. Kick one of your legs to the side, then slowly lower yourself down to a 90 degree angle be bending your other knee. You might need to prop your side-swept leg on a pillow or rolled towel.
Leg lifts - Lie down on your back and lift each leg straight up, hold for 10 seconds, and lower back down.
Single leg lifts - Start by standing straight with your hands on your hips. Keeping you legs as straight possible, and without pointing your toes, slowly lift one leg in front of you, holding it there for fifteen seconds. Slowly lower it, then switch to the other leg. You can also lift your leg diagonally backwards but you might want to hold onto the back of a chair for support.
Scissor kicks - Lie down on your side propped up on your elbow. Lift each leg straight up, hold for 10 seconds, and back down.
Forward bends and kicks- Stand with your feet together, arms at your sides. Then bend forward while raising one leg behind you, and stretch your arms out in front of you for balance.
Bridge - Lay flat on your back with your arms flat at your sides. LIfe your hips into the air, keeping your arms flat but bending your knee. Hold the position at least 15-20 seconds.

Weight loss tips and tricks
Today I ate pretty healthy except for a small piece of leftover B-day cake. Here's what I ate today along with some tips and tricks for weight loss I find helpful.
Breakfast - Greek yogurt and blueberries - 121 cals
Lunch - Orange and 8 pieces of california roll - 215 cals
Dinner - Tomato and cucumber sandwich with cream cheese (light) and sprouted grain bread - 297 cals
Snacks - Almonds, sugar-free energy drink, and ice cream cake - 388 cals
Total = 1021 cals
Weight Loss Tips & Tricks
1. Drink a glass of water before and after every meal. It makes you feel more full, and has lots of other great benefits as well.
2. Always park your car far away, so you have to walk that extra bit. You can also get off the bus a stop or two early if you don't have a car.
3. Get a calorie tracker app and put in everything you eat. I use My Fitness Pal, but I'm sure there are others. They also have a website if you don't have an iphone.
4. Calculate your BMR, figure out how many calories you need to sustain your weight and eat 500-1000 cals a day less than that. You can use this link:
http://www.myfitnesspal.com/tools/bmr-calculator
5. Have healthy snacks ready in case you get hungry such as carrots, grapes, mini rice cakes, almonds, apple, orange, etc. I usually have something in my purse too just in case!
6. If you go out to drink order white wine or vodka with diet soda (called a skinny bitch for a reason). These drinks have the least amount of calories and are still very enjoyable.
7. If you plan to go out to eat look up the menu ahead of time and search items on your calorie tracker app or google to see which has least amount of calories and order that item with ice water, pellegrino or diet soda.
8. Eat sprouted grain bread (or rice bread) instead of whole wheat or white bread. It's healthier, easier for you to digest, and makes you less bloated than other bread.
9. Drink Tea!! Green tea, pu-erh tea, oolong tea and mate tea all aid in weight loss and give you energy. You can also make a fruit tea, chill and add soda water for a delicious sugar-free beverage.
10. Find a sport or activity you like to do, I hate running and most sports but I love romantic walks, hot yoga, tennis, and dancing the night away so that to me is better than nothing.
11. Don't skip breakfast, or try not to eat anything until you are absolutely starving. You usually end up pigging out and worse off. Eat small meals throughout the day to keep your metabolism going and your blood sugar level maintained.
12. Try to encourage healthy eating at your workplace! Bring in a veggie tray, fruit platter or healthy bran muffins with cranberries. Other people will follow suit and you wont have that box of doughnuts calling your name anymore!
